Career Services

I have gone to a few career exposes at ASU, where employers come out in the hopes of enticing young, ambitious graduates to come on board and make a significant contribution to their company. However, the events are overwhelming for me as a much older adult returning to school after a long hiatus. I walked through swarms of people and tables set up with marketing materials and information on potentials positions of employment. I was curious about a few employers that were in attendance but upon speaking with the representatives, I realized that my age and work experience was a factor that would make it uncomfortable for me to go and work for someone else. My entrepreneurial spirit keeps pushing me to create a new business that will contribute good to the world. I've found that going to these events help to solidify my goal to work in the community and help others, but not as an employee. The events are great for the young and ambitious with little to no experience. It is a great way to meet employers and get information on different industries that would appeal to work in.
